Randy Starks signed his franchise tag with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported.

The defensive tackle had indicated he hoped to work out something longer than the one-year deal that comes with the franchise designation, but it appears he'll have to keep waiting.
The Dolphins currently are set to pay Starks $8.45 million for the season.
Starks is coming off a year in which he started all 16 games for the Dolphins, registering 4.5 sacks, 27 tackles and a pick.
