Nate Washington to be shopped by Tennessee Titans

Around The League recently listed Nate Washington as a potential surprise cut among AFC veterans, even though he led the Tennessee Titans in receiving yards each of the past two seasons.

Sources told NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah on Tuesday night that the Titans will look to trade Washington first. Due $4.2 million this season, Washington is unlikely to draw serious interest on the block.

While the 29-year-old is a fine complementary player, the Titans' front office has deemed him no longer worthy of a bloated paycheck.

The Titans are looking to get more dynamic at receiver, with multiple reports linking them to free-agent slot machine Danny Amendola as a safety blanket for quarterback Jake Locker. Other teams reported to be interested in Amendola include the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots.

Should Washington hit the open market, he would fit in the tier alongside Brandon Gibson and below Greg Jennings, Wes Welker and Amendola.
