At several positions, NFL teams have been telling agents that they will settle for a lesser player if their client doesn't take what is being offered. With Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman also available as slot receivers, Welker might find a depressed market for his services.

According to SI.com's Peter King, it's "widely believed" that Welker is "staying in New England." Unable to swing Dwayne Bowe money, it's a good bet that Welker will realize that returning to the Patriots is his best option.
