Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback William Gay is set for a return to the Steel City. Gay, who was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday in a salary-cap move, signed a three-year deal with the Steelers on Monday.

Gay's agent, Jerrod Colton, tweeted that Gay "had other options," but that his "heart is with Steeler Nation."

The Steelers selected Gay in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. A starter in 2009 and in 2011, Gay won a Super Bowl with the Steelers before signing a free-agent contract with the Cardinals last offseason.

Gay started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2012. He had 57 tackles, two interceptions and three forced fumbles.
