The Richard Sherman-Darrelle Revis feud isn't going away anytime soon.
After engaging in a very public, entertaining back and forth via Twitter on Wednesday, the spat evolved Thursday morning when Sherman was interviewed on NFL Network's "NFL AM."
The Seattle Seahawks' rising star cornerback provided a handful of notable sound bites.
"He took it the wrong way," Sherman said of Revis' reaction to his comments. "It seemed like he had something else going on over there. I couldn't tell you what it was. He didn't play this year, so you know, it was just a truthful statement."
Sherman called himself the best cornerback in the NFL and said he bases that judgment on how he impacts the game, citing his ability to record forced fumbles, interceptions and sacks. He sounded like a man with something to prove -- saying he's not getting the respect he believes he deserves -- and he clearly isn't backing down from his original comments.
"That's just not who I am, or who I'm going to be," Sherman said. "Because I'm not gonna let (Revis) ... call me a little girl.
"People can say what they want to say," Sherman added. "At the end of the day, I'm an All-Pro, and that's gonna be what it's gonna be. My play does speak for itself."
We'll see if Revis and his representatives decide to fire back. They declined to do so for Thursday's show. After Sherman kept the quarrel going, the ball now is in the New York Jets cornerback's court. Stay tuned.
