Husain Abdullah signs with Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs need help all over the place and hope safety Husain Abdullah can lend a hand.

Take a look at the best photos from the Kansas City Chiefs' 2012 season.

Abdullah -- a practicing Muslim -- was signed Monday after sitting out last season to speak at mosques across the nation before making a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Abdullah last played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2008 to 2011, but turned down a contract offer from the team in 2012 to embark on a journey of faith along with his brother Hamza, who spent 2009 to 2011 with the Arizona Cardinals.

On the field, Husain started 24 games for the Vikings, but suffered concussions in his first, fifth, 22nd and 24th starts. If he can stay healthy, Husain could see time across from strong safety Eric Berry as part of a secondary that ranked 13th in the NFL in total defense and 21st against the pass in 2012.
