A change of scenery certainly remains possible. Mike Garafolo of USA Today reported Thursday that Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in acquiring Foles if he becomes available.
Reid was responsible for bringing Foles to the Eagles last year, and former Eagles scout and current NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah told Around The League on Monday that Reid and Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson are huge Foles supporters who "believe in him greatly."
Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network in December that Reid tied himself to Foles in his failed pitch to keep his job with the Eagles. Reid viewed Foles as a future starter in Philadelphia, and he wanted to see the quarterback's promise through.
On Monday, Kelly said he planned for Vick and Foles to compete for the starting job in training camp. He also didn't rule out a trade. With Dixon now in the mix, Foles could be viewed as expendable.
The Chiefs have the No. 1 pick in the draft, but they were one year too late on getting their hands on a can't-miss prospect. Matt Cassel will likely restructure his deal or get sent packing. From a logic standpoint, Foles-to-the-Chiefs almost makes too much sense.
