Andy Reid planning to hire Brad Childress for Chiefs?

Andy Reid might be getting the band back together in Kansas City.

The newly hired Kansas City Chiefs coach is meeting with Brad Childress and might hire him as an advisor, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.

Adam Teicher of The Kansas City Star confirmed the visit but reported the Chiefs are not eyeing Childress as an offensive coordinator, the lame-duck position he currently holds with the Cleveland Browns. Teicher also reported that Pat Shurmur, recently fired in Cleveland, isn't about to land the OC job, either.

Childress reuniting with Reid isn't far-fetched. They worked together for years with the Philadelphia Eagles, where Chilly parlayed his coordinator duties into an uneven head-coaching gig with the Minnesota Vikings.

Childress didn't call plays in Cleveland (Shurmur did), but he helped game-plan for a team that finished 25th in offense.

Not exactly a resume-builder, but friends hire friends in this league, and we aren't surprised to see Reid call upon staffers he trusts as he starts over again in K.C.
