The mutual interest between coach Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs quickly gained steam, and a deal is expected to be reached soon. Some have wondered why Reid would want to go to an organization with an unsettled quarterback situation and an uncertain general manager situation.

Apparently he's had a Kansas City sherpa, of sorts.
Reid is close friends with former Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil, and a source told Philly.com the two had conversations about the organization. Vermeil seems to have given the thumbs-up and has been in contact with the Chiefs about Reid as recently as Tuesday.
The Reid-K.C. connection makes a little more sense now.
