They call it Black Monday in the NFL, but the reality is that many teams won't make a final decision on their head-coaching situations for a few more days. That will be the case for the Carolina Panthers.
Team officials told the Charlotte Observer that a decision on coach Ron Rivera's future is not expected Monday. Rivera met with the media as usual Monday morning.
Steve Reed of The Associated Press opined that we might not hear a final answer this week. The next Panthers general manager might decide Rivera's status. Owner Jerry Richardson isn't even in town Monday. For some coaches like Rivera, the waiting is just getting started.
