Brian Urlacher out for Chicago Bears; Matt Forte OK

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will not play Sunday against the Detroit Lions, NFL.com's Albert Breer reported. Running back Matt Forte, as he predicted this week, will. Breer also reported backup running back Armando Allen would be out for the Bears.

Urlacher hasn't played since Week 13 because of a hamstring injury. He was listed as doubtful this week.

Forte has sprained his right ankle three times this season and was wearing a boot after last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears need a win in Detroit and a Minnesota Vikings loss or tie against the Green Bay Packers to reach the playoffs. The Vikings have to lose to the Packers if the Bears tie the Lions.

Chicago needs its most versatile offensive player in a do-or-die situation against a vulnerable defense ranked 29th in the NFL.
