Jason Garrett: Dallas Cowboys will support Josh Brent

Two days after a deadly car crash rocked the organization, Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the team is supporting defensive tackle Josh Brent in any way it can.

NFL Replay will re-air the Dallas Cowboys' 20-19 win over the Cincinnati  Bengals in Week 14 on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Brent was behind the wheel early Saturday morning when he hit a curb and flipped his car on a Texas highway, killing teammate and friend Jerry Brown. Brent failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested.

Brent bonded out of jail Sunday and was at the Cowboys' complex Monday, meeting with medical personnel, teammates and Garrett.

"What we want to do as players, as coaches, as an entire organization (is) let him know that he should be supported everywhere he turns," Garrett said. "That's what we want to express to him. It's a very challenging situation for him.

"We talked about it yesterday; him and Jerry were best friends. They've known each other since college, they were very close in college, they were very close since they've been here together," Garrett said. "... We just want to make him feel like there are people around him who can help him get through this thing day by day."

Brent escaped the accident physically unharmed, but it's unclear how he'll factor into the Cowboys' plans. He is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.
