The Dallas Cowboys bolstered their defensive backfield Friday by signing cornerback Sterling Moore off the New England Patriots' practice squad, according to agent Jordan Woy, who tweeted the news.
The Cowboys have been battling injuries in their secondary, with cornerback Orlando Scandrick hampered by a hand injury and safety Barry Church out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.
Moore returns to the comfortable confines of Texas, where he played his college ball at SMU, which is located in Dallas.
Moore originally signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in July 2011. He played for the Patriots that season and had two interceptions, including one for a touchdown, in six games.
