Rolando McClain won't be released by the Oakland Raiders, like he hoped. That would be a reward.
Instead, the Raiders announced they have suspended the linebacker two games for conduct detrimental to the team. The news first was reported by Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer.

Raiders players told Glazer that McClain was informed of the news Friday morning. And the two-game suspension makes a lot of sense.
McClain reportedly got into an argument with Raiders coach Dennis Allen before being kicked out of practice Wednesday. The team told McClain to stay home Thursday, and he complied.
The player's union could find fault with the suspension and appeal it.
No matter what happens off the field, it's hard to imagine McClain ever suiting up for the Raiders again. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2010 draft was a massive disappointment on the field -- one of the worst 4-3 middle linebackers in the league, according to NFL Films' Greg Cosell. The Raiders clearly are fed up with McClain off the field, too.
