Brandon Marshall: Some players use Viagra for 'edge'

Asking Brandon Marshall about the issue of Adderall use creeping up in the NFL this season produced a frisky response from the Chicago Bears wide receiver.

"I don't know too much about Adderall," Marshall told reporters, via the Chicago Tribune. "I know guys, it is such a competitive league, guys try anything just to get that edge.

"I'm fortunate enough to be blessed with size and some smarts to give me my edge. But some guys, they'll do whatever they can to get an edge. I've heard of some crazy stories. I've heard (of) guys using, like, Viagra, seriously. Because the blood is supposedly thin, some crazy stuff. So, you know, it's kind of scary with some of these chemicals that are in some of these things so you have to be careful."

We have so many questions. Concerns, too. Who knew this was happening out on the field?

Whatever the inherent advantage might be, the disadvantage -- in the middle of a football game -- seems obvious.

Troubling times. Problematic visuals. Let's just move on, shall we?

UPDATE: When asked about Marshall's comment, Lance Briggs jokingly offered his take. "There's going to be a lot of dangerous boners on the field," the Bears linebacker said.
