Suspended coach Gregg Williams is seeking answers about his future in the NFL.

Harrison: Week 12 predictions

No more bye weeks in the 2012 campaign. What can we expect with all 32 teams in action? Elliot Harrison provides his picks. **More ...**

CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reported Thursday that former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue has been issued a request to bump up Williams' reinstatement hearing from February to December. Williams currently is scheduled to have his case heard after the Super Bowl.

If the former defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints is reinstated, he might wind up with the St. Louis Rams, where coach Jeff Fisher hired him to run the defense before the bounty scandal hatched. There's no guarantee Fisher will want Williams back, though.

The hearing's current timeline threatens to leave Williams out of luck. New coaching staffs -- and there will be plenty of them in 2013 -- are mostly sealed up by February. Hires will have been made, and Williams might have trouble landing a prime job that late in the year.

One thing is clear: Williams wants back in.
