The Colts' quarterback completed a 2-yard shovel pass to tight end Dwayne Allen with 6:52 remaining in the fourth quarter to break Cam Newton's record of 432 yards. It was Luck's final completion of the game as he bested the mark by a single yard.
The Colts settled for a field goal on the drive to pull ahead of the Dolphins (4-4).
The No. 1 overall draft pick finished 30-of-48 passing and made big play after big play for the Colts (5-3), who have won three straight and are 4-1 at home.
Luck threw for 273 yards in the first half -- the fourth-highest first-half total in franchise history -- and it didn't take much longer for him to join Peyton Manning as the only players in NFL history with four 300-yard games in their rookie seasons.
