It might not be the Super Bowl, but a rematch of last year's Bowl Championship Series national championship game is always a worthy talking point among the NFL fraternity.
The Southeastern Conference showdown between defending BCS champion Alabama and runner-up Louisiana State on Saturday night drew plenty of attention from NFL players on Twitter.
Of course, very few NFL players actually got the chance to attend the game -- and even fewer had the social media savvy to tweet from the sideline.
But New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley managed to do both while cheering on the Tigers to pull off the upset:

San Diego Chargers linebacker Takeo Spikes was in Alabama's corner:
(War Eagle)“@desheatownsend: ROLL TIDE!!!!How many Roll Tide retweets can I get today!!”

Carolina Panthers Wide Receiver Brandon LaFell offered strategy advice to his alma mater, LSU:
We just have stop them n stay in attack mode on offense #LSUvsBAMA

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden may have gone to Oklahoma State, but that didn't stop him from watching Notre Dame's 29-26 victory over Pittsburgh.
Wow! What a game! #NDvsPITT

Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes tried to rain on Notre Dame's parade:
“@paul_f_hanley: cause #3 in the country barely beat Pitt. Sad days whenND is that high up in the polls.” I said the same thing smh

Earl Thomas wished Texas good luck. It apparently worked since the Longhorns beat Texas Tech, 31-22.“@s_0neill: @brandonspikes55 manti teo is already better than you” indeed I agree sir ????????
