Norv Turner says Chargers wouldn't have fired him

First things first: No one "reported" before Thursday night's San Diego Chargers-Kansas City Chiefs game that Norv Turner would have been fired if San Diego lost.

Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego gave his opinion that Turner would be let go. After the fact, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported that Chargers owner Dean Spanos "likely" would have fired Turner if the team lost.

"I don't believe it is true," Turner told Acee after the game.

Earlier in the week, Turner admitted the situation is wearing on him.

"No one is immune to it," Turner said. "You try not to be affected, and I sure don't want anyone in this room to think I'm affected. I don't want them to be affected and I don't think they were today."
