NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced Monday that the league will push back the trading deadline 48 hours to Thursday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. ET because of Hurricane Sandy. The original deadline was scheduled for Tuesday.

Aiello first told Around the League via email Monday that the NFL was considering extending the deadline. It makes sense because multiple teams have shut down operations Monday. The NFL office in New York also is closed Monday and Tuesday, which would have made paperwork tricky to pull off for any potential deals.

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson, Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams, Tennessee Titans tight end Jared Cook, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Braylon Edwards and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe are some of the names rumored to be discussed in talks.
