Andy Reid not ready to bench Michael Vick in Philly

Michael Vick has stayed healthy enough to start every game this season for the Philadelphia Eagles, but whispers about his job security aren't going away.

Kriegel: Another Philly fiasco

You couldn't help but root for Andy Reid this season, but Mark Kriegel says the Eagles are a massive disappointment. **More ...**

Andy Reid is open to a quarterback change, but NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Eagles coach isn't ready to commit to a quarterback switch because he doesn't view Vick as the team's lone problem, according to two sources inside the organization. Both sources said they wouldn't be surprised if Vick is benched.

Vick is 10-10 as the Eagles' starter over the past two seasons. His sensational play in 2010 made him the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, but Vick has struggled with durability and consistency since signing a six-year, $100 million contract before last season.

The 32-year-old passer flubbed two audibles in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and Reid hasn't seen his quarterback improve on last season's miscues. Vick's 1,823 passing yards includes nine touchdowns, eight interceptions and too many lost opportunities during the Eagles' 3-4 start.

An earlier report out of Philadelphia suggested Reid and his staff were planning to meet Monday and "likely" promote rookie Nick Foles to starter.

"Obviously, he's thinking about making a change at the quarterback position," Vick told NFL Network's Jeff Darlington. "The thing I do know is that I'm giving us every opportunity to win. I'm trying my hardest. Some things don't go right when I want them to. Some things do. So if that's the decision that (Reid) wants to make, then I support it."

Maybe not today, but change in Philadelphia feels inevitable.
