Tom Coughlin: 'Incredible' Cowboys got off 3 plays late

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin has seen a lot of wild endings in his career. The late events of Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game took him by surprise.

"I must say it's been a long time since I've seen three plays in 10 seconds," Coughlin said, via the New York Daily News. "That was an incredible thing that happened there."

NFL Replay
will re-air the New York Giants' 29-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8 on Tuesday, Oct. 30

at 8 p.m. ET.

Translation: The Cowboys got some home cooking with the scoreboard operator. If you watch the three plays in question, it does appear the clock starts late on Dez Bryant's overturned would-be game winner. Coughlin was shown to be furious on the sideline at at the time, and we think this is the reason why.

In the end, the Giants escaped with a 29-24 victory.

"It was pretty deflating to see (Bryant) catch that ball," owner John Mara said. "And then a great sense of relief when I saw the replay. Fortunately his hand was on that end line. This would've been a brutal ride home."

Instead, the Giants raced to the airport and got back to New Jersey before Hurricane Sandy started to do serious damage. Ultimately, the Cowboys found a way to suffer plenty of self-inflicted damage.
