This is not your normal case of in-season "bumps and bruises." And yet the injury isn't even serious enough for Reed to show up on the weekly NFL injury report.
Reed wasn't there Thursday. He wasn't listed last week either. By omitting Reed, the Ravens could be trying to prevent opposing teams from targeting his shoulder.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to NFL.com and NFL Network on Friday that the league is looking into the matter.
"We are aware that they are reviewing practice and game video," the Ravens said in a statement on the matter.
The league investigated why the Buffalo Bills didn't list Mario Williams on the injury report while he had a cast on his wrist. Eventually, the Bills added Williams to the report.
UPDATE: The NFL announced later Friday that it fined the Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins $20,000 each for violating the league's procedures on reporting injury information in the cases of Williams and Robert Griffin III, respectively.
