Playing for the first time since injuring his knee, Reggie Bush wasn't his explosive self in the Miami Dolphins' 24-21 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.
Bush wasn't terrible by any means -- rushing for 67 yards on 17 carries -- but he played at a lower level, both as a runner and a pass protector. Bush acknowledged Wednesday that he wasn't playing at 100 percent.
"I was hurting; I'm not going to lie," Bush said, via The Miami Herald. "I tried to fight through it. I did the best I could."
Bush was injured late in the second quarter of the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the New York Jets. Bush said the knee now feels much better than the prior week.
"I'm not going to make any excuses," he said. "I've got to play better. I didn't play well at all."
If Bush gets healthy and quarterback Ryan Tannehill continues to progress as he did in Week 4, the Dolphins' offense is going to be far better than anyone expected. Bush is the motor of this attack.
