Matt Ryan, Christian Ponder's throws highlight Week 3

So many outrageous things happened in the Tennessee Titans' wild 44-41 overtime win over the Detroit Lions that we almost don't know where to start. The Titans scored five touchdowns over 60 yards.

The Lions' defense keeps giving up big plays, which is why they are 1-2 on the season. Although there really is no defense for this Jake Locker toss to Nate Washington:

Oh, by the way: The Atlanta Falcons are 3-0. Their destruction of the San Diego Chargers had to be the most overlooked matchup of unbeaten teams in NFL history. Julio Jones is absolutely unstoppable in the red zone when Matt Ryan can make throws like this. The Falcons are third in the league in points and first in passing touchdowns.

The Minnesota Vikings' win over the San Francisco 49ers has to be represented here. Christian Ponder's ability to connect on passes despite significant pass pressure was evident all day. This play didn't really fool the 49ers, but it didn't matter. The fourth-down conversion set the tone for Ponder's coming out party.

Carson Palmer might have the most deceivingly good statistics of any quarterback this year, but there is no faulting his play in the second half against the Steelers. Pittsburgh's defense blew this one, but Palmer deserves a lot of credit. Throwing on the move!

Torrey Smith's game following the death his brother will be remembered a long time. What shouldn't be forgotten: Joe Flacco's excellent performance to set Smith up. The Baltimore Ravens finally have a true No. 1 receiver and Flacco saved his best plays for the end to beat the New England Patriots. This is a result that could echo deep into the season because of tiebreakers.

I'm giving you a bonus play this week because I already picked it out. I've watched every snap Tony Romo has taken this year. Half of his completions are miracles. He's repeatedly bailing out the offensive line with awesome throws on the move. He gets hit every other snap. On this play, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback gets hit and Miles Austin performs the miracle.
