A rough outing for Blaine Gabbert ended painfully Sunday.
The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback departed a 27-7 loss to the Houston Texans in the fourth quarter with what the team called a hamstring injury.
Gabbert walked off the field under his own power and later was seen wandering the sideline. Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said after the game that Gabbert has a strain in the back of his leg and the injury had been bothering the quarterback. Mularkey chose to pull Gabbert with the game out of reach.

Backup Chad Henne took over, but he couldn't turn around a contest that ultimately produced more questions than answers for Jacksonville's offense.
Gabbert's day was messy from the outset. His 7-of-19 outing for 53 yards and a touchdown marked his lowest yardage as a pro. Take away his 32-yard completion to Laurent Robinson, and Gabbert's five remaining connections averaged less than five yards a pop.
Jacksonville sputtered through five three-and-outs at one stage. The offensive line was overwhelmed by Houston's defense, leaving Gabbert to face a collapsing pocket all afternoon.
It read like a page ripped from last year's shaky narrative for the Jaguars. That's not a book anyone in Jacksonville was hoping to re-read in 2012.
