Tight end Jason Witten played for the Dallas Cowboys' regular-season opener against the New York Giants on Wednesday after coach Jason Garrett said Witten would be a game-time decision.

Witten suffered a lacerated spleen in the Cowboys' first preseason game against the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 13.

The Cowboys won 24-17. Witten had two catches for 10 yards, and was flagged for a false start and holding.
