The Eagles later confirmed that Kafka has been cut.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that rookie Nick Foles was the top choice for backup "right now," according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com.

Foles has posted stellar performances throughout the preseason, and Trent Edwards also has made a strong case to remain on the roster, which possibly pushed out Kafka.
