Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt has been removed from the physically unable to perform list and will rejoin the active roster Wednesday, the team announced.

Titans coach Mike Munchak hinted earlier Tuesday that Britt was close to being activated following a knee procedure in June.

"He's at the point where it's time for a decision, which we know that we have to do anyway in two days," Munchak said, according to The Tennessean. "But he's done very well. He's getting as close as you can probably get without practicing."

The Titans had until Friday's cut-down date to remove Britt from the PUP list. Britt will not play in Thursday's final preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.

Britt missed most of last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his right knee. His latest knee procedure was his third in the past 10 months.

Even when Britt does officially return, he likely faces an NFL suspension for his July 20 arrest for driving under the influence, his eighth incident with police since joining the NFL in 2009.

The NFL announced last week that there is no timeline for Britt's suspension. Britt recently insisted that he is not worried about receiving punishment from the league, calling it "another bump in the road."
