Philadelphia Eagles
2011 record: 8-8 (Second in NFC East)

Fearless Forecast

  • Bucky Brooks

Michael Vick's health will play a critical role in the Eagles' success, but a supporting cast of explosive playmakers will make the offense tough to defend regardless of the triggerman.
Prediction: 11-5, first in NFC East

  • Daniel Jeremiah

The Eagles have speed everywhere on both sides of the ball but they desperately need Michael Vick to stay healthy. They are very capable of winning the division if No. 7 can avoid injury.
Prediction: 9-7, second in NFC East

  • Adam Schein

I love the DeMeco Ryans and Fletcher Cox additions on defense. But I am still concerned about the other linebacker positions, safety, the line with Jason Peters hurt and Michael Vick staying healthy.
Prediction: 9-7, second in NFC East

  • Steve Wyche

They will come after quarterbacks in relentless droves with the depth along the front four, and that will lead to takeaways and the shortening of the field for Vick and Co.
Prediction: 10-6, first in NFC East

In The Spotlight
Michael Vick | #7 | QB

Vick learned from last year’s disappointment, which included a career-high 14 interceptions. He is surrounded by playmakers and he seems at ease as a team leader. The Eagles would like Vick to find a way within his athletic, instinctive game to take fewer hits so he can stay on the field.

3 Pivotal Games
Week 2 vs. Ravens
The Eagles watched the playoffs in January as the Ravens came within a whisper of the Super Bowl. This is a great early test for a Philadelphia team that believes it should be improved across the board, particularly defensively, from a year ago.
Week 10 vs. Cowboys
On Vick’s June 26 birthday, the Cowboys' official twitter account offered good wishes, accompanied by a picture of DeMarcus Ware sacking Vick. The Eagles responded by asking if the 2011 game tapes had been burned. Philly swept Dallas last season, when both teams finished 8-8. Yes, there's drama here.
Week 17 at Giants
These late-season meetings always seem to mean something. Would it be a huge surprise if this one matters to both teams? Last year, LeSean McCoy rushed for 241 yards in two games vs. the Giants. But Vick was knocked out of one game with a broken hand and missed the other due to broken ribs.
