Geoff Mosher of the News Journal reports that the underrated starter is suffering from vertigo. Mathis is experiencing dizziness and balance issues, which was caused by an inner ear infection.

Philadelphia has experienced a number of setbacks this offseason from left tackle Jason Peters' ACL injuries to Jason Babin's calf problems to Riley Cooper's broken collarbone to defensive tackle Mike Patterson's struggles to return to the field.
