Berry was penciled in to start next to Chris Houston before his two arrests. Houston was disappointed when he heard the news on Monday.

God blesses us with a opportunity of a lifetime! Sad that you work your whole life to get to the top only to do something to fall down!!â $low Grind (@Chris23Houston) July 23, 2012
So who will start opposite Houston now? Third-round draft pick Bill Bentley, free-agent pickup Jacob Lacey from the Indianapolis Colts and veteran Alphonso Smith are first in line. It's not an inspiring group, although that was the case even before Berry was dropped. Detroit's biggest weakness as a team remains in the secondary.
