The decision by the Detroit Lions to cut cornerback Aaron Berry was the culmination of a long, ugly offseason. The organization is embarrassed, and that includes the players.
One Lions player told me just now: "This s--- has to stop. We're becoming the laughing stock of not only the NFL but all of sports."

Berry was penciled in to start next to Chris Houston before his two arrests. Houston was disappointed when he heard the news on Monday.
You can preach to someone over and over but if they don't get it it's nothing you can do they have to learn the hard way!

God blesses us with a opportunity of a lifetime! Sad that you work your whole life to get to the top only to do something to fall down!!

So who will start opposite Houston now? Third-round draft pick Bill Bentley, free-agent pickup Jacob Lacey from the Indianapolis Colts and veteran Alphonso Smith are first in line. It's not an inspiring group, although that was the case even before Berry was dropped. Detroit's biggest weakness as a team remains in the secondary.
