We have a mysterious tweet on the Darrelle Revis front:
Darrelle Revis' biz mgr. Hmmm. RT "@JohnGeiger_: Where is a good place to stay in Cortland?
- Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) July 20, 2012
John Geiger, the marketing and business manager for the New York Jets cornerback, later erased the tweet.
We still don't know if Revis will show up when the Jets open camp on July 28 in Cortland, N.Y.
With two years remaining on his contract, Revis hasn't confirmed either way. A holdout won't play well in New York, where Revis has made $32.5 million over the past two seasons.
His unhappiness stems from the scant $13.5 million he'll make over the next two.
Asked if Revis will honor his deal, ESPN's Chris Mortensen said Monday he'd be "surprised if he's there day one."
We agree.
Update: The Associated Press, citing a person familiar with the decision, reported late Friday night that Revis expects to report with the rest of his teammates next Thursday in Cortland, N.Y.
