While it might not tug at the heart strings with the same power of "Brandon Jacobs Rewards Area Boy Who Offered Life Savings," Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham has earned himself some good PR with the following explainabrag tweet on Friday:
S/O to the homeless man that paid 50 cents in the parking meter so we wouldn't get a 55$ ticket. Had to give that man a 100 for that.- Jermaine Gresham (@JGresham84) July 6, 2012
Good on Jermaine. Though this certainly isn't the first act of kindness toward a destitute fellow human -- did we already forget "The Pursuit of Happyness"? -- this could be the first one that involved a "shoutout" on Twitter.
This sounds like a case for the Elias Sports Bureau. Guys?
