Christian Ponder, Percy Harvin might get together

The Percy Harvin drama has turned around rather quickly.

Not only did Harvin return to minicamp practice with the Minnesota Vikings and promise to attend training camp, the receiver might get extra work in with his quarterback in the meantime. Christian Ponder mentioned Thursday that he's spoken with Harvin about throwing in Florida sometime over the next two weeks.

One day, Harvin looked like he wasn't going to participate in mandatory work. The next, there's talk of him volunteering to put in additional hours with a teammate.

We listened to Tom Pelissero and Judd Zulgad of espn1500.com, who said Thursday that the Vikings were completely caught off guard by Harvin's activities this week. Harvin's problems with the team remain a mystery.

Perhaps the sticking point is Harvin's role with the team, but that would seem to be such an easy problem to fix. There might have been a more personal issue between Harvin and a member of the Vikings staff, which could explain why the two sides decided to keep the source of his displeasure quiet.
