D'Brickashaw Ferguson: Tim Tebow trade shocked Jets

D'Brickashaw Ferguson is no different than anyone else on the New York Jets. Get him in front of a microphone, and all anyone wants to hear about is Tim Tebow.

The veteran left tackle obliged our friends at WFAN-AM this week, recalling the reaction inside the Jets' locker room after the Tebow trade went down in late March.

Brooks: Jets' new-look defense

The Jets have discussed switching from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3. Bucky Brooks says this makes perfect sense. **More ...**

"I think everyone was taken aback at first. Like, wow, nobody knew what to expect," Ferguson said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com, "but I met with the man and he's got a good head on his shoulders and he's real passionate. I think we'll have to wait and see until the season because not only will it be exciting to see what does happen. But it's going to make a lot of other teams really have to second guess what we'll be doing because we have the advantage of having great quarterbacks, and now we have the opportunity to do what we want with what we have."

During the team's recent offseason workouts, we got a taste of what's ahead with Tebow and Mark Sanchez sharing a roof in Florham Park. Predictably, any fresh footage of the two warming up side-by-side was treated like the Zapruder film. Ferguson says this public obsession hasn't tinged the Jets' locker room.

"I don't feel that feeling of conflict was there during (offseason workouts)," he said. "I think that feeling is more outside in than inside out. I think right now we are in a good place."

Let's chat in September.
