Imagine this: It's early Tuesday morning and you're slowly steering your woebegone vehicle to work. First critical stop: coffee.
Just like any other day, you bang a right into the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru. The line is moving painfully slow this morning. There's a disturbance up ahead. For some reason, motorists are clamoring to shake hands with the window guy. Who shakes hands with the window guy?
Everybody, when it's Eli Manning.
On Tuesday morning, that's exactly who it was. The New York Giants quarterback was seen efficiently working the window of a New York-area Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru after signing a promotional partnership with the company. We're told he did a nice job handing out doughnuts and connecting with the everyman.
It feels like a one-time deal, but we're rooting for Eli to consider taking on a late-night shift when he's not breaking down film of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Manning, however, doesn't need the dough. We learned Tuesday he ranked 30th on Forbes' list of the world's 100 highest-paid athletes. We doubt adding a shift dispensing Maple Bars will bump him up to No. 29.
