David Garrard getting first-team reps with Dolphins

The forgotten man in the Miami Dolphins' three-way quarterback battle hasn't been forgotten by the coaches.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, David Garrard was taking most of the first-team snaps for Miami at Monday's organized team activity. The newspaper reported that Garrard's status was "telling."

We're not sure it tells us much, other than coach Joe Philbin is serious about giving Garrard, Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill equal chances at winning the starting quarterback job. No one has particularly stood out in practices so far, but we're not sure that it would matter anyway in non-contact work.

This is a battle that will be won in training camp. Garrard remains the underdog, but he'll be given a real chance to keep taking first-team snaps in August and into September.
