Rolando McClain back with Raiders after court appeal

Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was convicted of assault, reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm and menacing last week in Alabama. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but he is a free man while his appeal goes through the legal process.

In the meantime, McClain will get some work done with his teammates. Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune confirmed with the Raiders that McClain was at OTAs Monday. It's unclear if or when McClain will have to serve his jail sentence at this point.

"The team will continue to closely monitor the legal process, understanding that when appropriate, the NFL will review the situation under its personal conduct policy," the Raiders said in a statement after McClain's conviction.

Oakland is rather thin at the middle linebacker position with McClain's status up in the air. Second-year pro Travis Goethel looks to be next in line on the depth chart.
