The quarterback began his college career at UCLA before transferring to Furman University in the Football Championship Subdivision. His brothers Tate and Jason also played college football.

Forcier joins quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne and Dan LeFevour on the Jaguars' roster. Gabbert and Henne are expected to battle for the starting job in training camp. The two are the only quarterbacks on the team to have played in an NFL game.
