Saints QB: Vilma found out about ban from television

In the press release announcing player discipline in the New Orleans Saints' "bounty" scandal, the league states in the first sentence that each affected player was "notified today" of their punishment.

According to Saints backup quarterback Chase Daniel, teammate Jonathan Vilma learned of his ban from an avenue other than the NFL. It was actually basic cable.
