Washington Redskins release QB John Beck

The Washington Redskins have released quarterback John Beck, a league source said Saturday.

Beck started three games last season for the Redskins.

The veteran QB became expendable after the Redskins selected quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins in the NFL draft.

RG3 was selected with the second overall pick, and Cousins was taken in the fourth round.
