The Miami Dolphins are doing their best not to telegraph the team's big move in this week's NFL draft.
Monday was occupied by a fair amount of mudslinging and debate around where Miami would go at No. 8 overall. Owner Stephen Ross finally went on the record to dismiss theories that he's meddling in front-office affairs and forcing the team to consider Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
It's no sure bet Tannehill falls to the Dolphins, but if he's available, one league executive believes Miami won't pass him up.
"If a team wants a quarterback, they're going to have to come in front of Miami," McDonough said.
Let's pause to note that Jacksonville picks No. 7, so draw your own conclusions about McDonough's information.
Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland stressed Monday the team is committed to taking the best player for the organization -- not necessarily the best quarterback.
We'll believe it when we see it.
