It looks like Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl receiver Mike Wallace will be staying put, after Friday's deadline to sign restricted free-agent tenders came and went.

Reuter: Impact WR/TE prospects
In today's pass-happy NFL, receivers and tight ends are hot draft commodities. Chad Reuter examines depth at both spots. More ...

Teams that wanted to sign a deal with Wallace would have had to send the Steelers a first-round draft pick, a steep price that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported last week likely would scuttle any trade.

Wallace, a third-year pro, led the Steelers last season in catches (72), receiving yards (1,193) and touchdowns (8). He would net the team a third-round pick if he leaves in free agency after the upcoming season.

If Wallace, who hasn't signed his one-year, $2.745-million tender, chooses to hold out into the regular season, however, it also could hurt his value on the open market once his contract expires.
