Jabar Gaffney says Redskins trying to trade WR

Jabar Gaffney's infamous, disputed Twitter rant for the ages might be the last thing he does as a member of the Washington Redskins.

The veteran receiver told Chris Russell of WTEM-AM in Washington: "They are trying to trade me."

The Redskins are highly unlikely to find a taker. Gaffney's job in Washington looked tenuous at best after the team signed Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon. The team also has promising youngster Leonard Hankerson and Santana Moss under contract.

Gaffney isn't a receiver who has attracted much interest on the open market during his career. The only team that might have given up a late-round pick for him was the New England Patriots. They are well stocked at receiver now.

We'd expect Gaffney to be released, possibly after the draft.
