"It's going to be tough," Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback, said Friday at Yankee Stadium, where he attended the Yankees' home opener, according to ProFootballTalk.com. "You know, I feel bad for the Sanchez. It's going to be tough for him, I know him and Santonio (Holmes) are down working out now, but we'll see how it works out. I guess you can never count Coach (Rex) Ryan out.
"I think it's tough for him that he's a guy that's a franchise-type quarterback, they pay him the money to be here, they have a lot of faith in him," Roethlisberger added. "I think he's a good quarterback. And then you bring a guy in that the fans are going to be cheering for, they're probably going be chanting 'Tebow' from the first game. I just feel bad for a guy that is a franchise quarterback like that."
"Absolutely I was happy for Eli. That solidifies our draft class a little more," Roethlisberger, who also has two Super Bowl rings, told The Record. "It was awesome to watch him go out and perform. He played great."
