Irate? Maybe livid? Or do you honestly now expect the world after the franchise's first winning season in 11 years?
Evidently, Lions team president Tom Lewand falls into the latter category.
"Last year wasn't good enough for us," Lewand told Detroit TV station WXYZ on Tuesday. "Our goal is not to be a wild card participant. Our goals are a lot higher than that. People say to us all the time, 'What a great year, what a great year.' Well, you know what, it wasn't a great year. It was okay.
"It was a step in the right direction, but we've got a lot of work ahead of us, and our goals are out there to be achieved, and that goal ultimately is Super Bowl championships -- not just one, but many."
Lewand's ambition is to be commended, and certainly the Lions have some pieces in place for continued success, most importantly a healthy franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford and an unbelievable wide receiver in Calvin Johnson.
But, c'mon ... baby steps. "Wasn't good enough" is a bit of a harsh assessment after the suffering the franchise and its fans have endured for so long.
