Wayne doesn't plan to wait for Peyton Manning to make up mind

While the quarterback and receiver have long been assumed to be attached at the hip, league sources said Tuesday that wideout Reggie Wayne is not inclined to wait and see where ex-Indianapolis Colts teammate Peyton Manning lands before making a decision on his own future.

Lombardi: March madness

Free agency's a frenzied dance between agents and organizations, but Michael Lombardi explains the market's madness. **More ...**

Wayne is not against the idea of playing with Manning again, but he is committed to doing what is in his own best interest. The 33-year-old receiver hits the market at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday after spending the first 11 years of his NFL career with the Colts.

Wayne's presence on the market could also raise an interesting dynamic for clubs in the Manning sweepstakes. Those teams could make a play for Wayne early, in order to try and entice Manning to sign.

Finding a comfort level with his surroundings has been paramount to Manning in his search, and Wayne's presence certainly wouldn't hurt.
