He's back.
Twenty years ago this month, Green Bay shipped its first-round pick in the 1992 draft to Atlanta for an unheralded third-string quarterback named Brett Favre.
It turned out to be a pretty big deal for the Packers, but that's ancient history compared to what our earth learned Friday:
Old No. 4 has joined Twitter.
Hello friends, family, and fans. This is my official account I finally found the time to join twitter.
- Brett Favre (@BrettFavre4) March 2, 2012
Accustomed to dominating the NFL offseason, Favre's somewhat coached/bland profile bio -- "Father, Husband, Retired NFL quarterback" -- was intriguing enough to net him thousands of followers in mere minutes, a number ready to explode if Brett ever decides to engineer, say, a second Tweet.
He's already found a friend, choosing to follow Donald Driver, but it's unclear if Favre knows how to @ anyone.
This is a man who's endured his share of ups and downs in the Information Age -- Ochocinco he's not -- but we must be patient as the ol' gunslinger learns this new world.
